Very last minute Halloween costumes

So, I know Halloween is tonight and this post is quite late, but some people may not have decided so I am here to help. I  have 2 ideas, I hope you like them :)

#1 - Snapchat Update - Rainbow

I have seen a few people doing this on YouTube but I thought I would give it a go. I used my little sister as a model because it was easier that doing it on myself. All you will need is:

  • Face-paint
  • Blusher
  • Fake Eyelashes
  • Brushes
I started by using the face-paint and painting the rainbow vomit over her bottom lip and down the neck. You could wear an old white top and bring it down onto it to make the effect more realistic, but the neckline that I was going to use was too low.

Next I used white face-paint and painted on the little stars and sparkles, making some big and small to get the full effect. I had to go over them twice to make them stand out really well.

Then I moved on to the eyes and because the update makes your eyes huge, I used the white face-paint again and lined under her eyes to make the look bigger. I also took the blushed and put lots on the cheeks and over the nose.

Finally, I used the pair of fake eyelashes and cute a third off each one, then put the bigger section on the top lid like normal and then the smaller third on the outside edge of the white line. This gives the illusion of much bigger eyes.

If you want you could also add a little bit of glitter to the rainbow. The good thing about this is that you can pair it with basically anything, although you could continue the rainbow down a white dress of top. This was the finished look.

#2 - Day of the Dead

I dressed up at the a Day of the Dead sugar skull for Halloween last year with a friend, but I don't have step by step pictures so I will just have to explain. You will need:
  • Face-paint
  • Little Black Dress
I basically decided to only do half of my face, but you could easily do all of it. I started but finding a picture online that I liked and pained half of my face with white face-paint, then painted a black circle over my eye and blue petals around it, then outlined them in black, I pained half of my lips black and extended a line over my cheek and made smaller likes to look like cuts, and painted half my nose to look like a skull. Then I drew half a sort of flower on my chin and outlined it in black. I used blue as my colour and my friend used red, but you can use anything, even mix up the colours, go big and bright!

I know this post is a bit different, but I hope you liked it and found it useful :)

....

I don't think I can even apologise for this, I am a terrible person :(

Anyway, moving on hahah I have decided to re-brand this blog because as much as I love doing solely photography, I want to be able to post reviews and tutorials. So I will still be posting photography, but just a mix of other things too :) I am going to change the name too, but I haven't decided what that will be yet... It will be soon so keep posted and you will see the change.

Since Summer I have basically been thrown into year 11 and it has all been very overwhelming, and time-management isn't my forte so it has been challenging haha and now with my mocks only a week away everything is building up and stress always with me :')

Anyway, I hope you are all well and are looking forward to the re-brand :)

Update… SUMMER!!

I know I know, I am terrible at posting but I am really going to try now, and I am going to apologise in advance for how long this is going to be….

So, since I last posted I have done 2 weeks of work experience, broken up from school for the Summer holidays, gone to Camp Bestival and found myself (yet again) in the middle of nowhere in Scotland with my family, which isn't so bad because it is so beautiful up here! It's a place called Coran and is near the very top of the UK right on a Loch and surrounded by mountains, so we are going to spend the next 10 days hiking, swimming and sailing… but at the moment everyone else has gone out to climb a Graham (mountain in Scotland that is over 2,500ft) and I am stuck at home because I have the flu :( lucky me. Even so I am going to take as many pictures as possible on the GoPro and disposable camera and post them when I am back home, because it is stunning!! By the end of this holiday our plan is to have climbed a Munro which is every mountain in Scotland which is over 3,00ft… Mainly because we thought it was fitting as we are staying with family and our Surname is Munro so we can't not :')

Before we travelled 15 hours up here we were at Camp Bestival in Dorset from Thursday till Monday and it was so good!! Not only was the music incredible (I saw Clean Bandit, Professor Green, Kaiser Chiefs, DJ Yoda, Ella Eyre, Ella Henderson and Underworld - All amazing!) but I took my best friend and we had an "Unofficial" henna business and would go around asking if people wanted a design and getting paid for them… so basically we were working all day and partying at night, but it was worth it because we made £600 in 3 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Split 50/50 of course but we were not expecting that at all!! We have even decided to start our own small business doing henna and we're going to call ourselves "Henna Girls" I am going to start a Facebook and Instagram account to promote it so I will link them when I have made them.

My God, then before that was my work experience at Fotonow which was so much fun. I met some really great people and was just having a good time all week, but I have also decided to do my Gold Arts Award with them over Summer and the next 8 months which is very exciting because I have already done my Bronze and you can just skip Silver, but Gold gives you UCAS points so is helpful in more than one way, so I recommend doing it if you get the opportunity. During my week with them we made a film about their Camper Obscura and experimented with different types of photography so I will show you what kind of things we got below.

I am going to try my best to keep this updated, sorry if I am slow with posts. Have a great Summer :)

(Sorry, this was supposed to go up last Friday but I had to gather images etc, I am hem now but I will post again in a few days talking about the entire trip :))

Surf retreat to Porthcothan

Hello, so I have now finished my first of work experience at BHS and it was actually really good, I was doing something new everyday and everyone who worked there was so lovely! This week I am on my second placement at FOTONOW which is a photography company based in Plymouth and so far it has been really fun, we spent the day looking at exhibitions at the Plymouth Art Center and messing about with pin hole cameras and camera obscuras. This weekend I went to the North coast with loads of family friends who my parents have known forever and I have grown up with and we are all really beachy so we camped at Porthcothan Friday and Saturday nights and had the best time! I spent most of my time on the beach and surfing or cliff jumping with my friends Angus and Grace, and on Saturday we went took our boards down and went for a midnight surf with glow-sticks and it was amazing! Spending the evenings around campfires, drinking and staying up late singing and chatting, one of the best weekends I've had in while :) The only bad thing was that because it was so hot on Saturday, I got pretty badly sun-burnt :( even though I put loads of suncream on, it doesn't stop the fact I am ginger and my skin is repelled by the sun :( I was also annoyed with myself because I forgot to take my GoPro!!! I could have got some amazing shots of us jumping off rocks and surfing, but I did manage to get a few on my phone when we had our evening surf, before it got too dark, I hope you like them and that you are having a good summer so far :).

Photo-shoot practice

Hey guys, just thought I would share some picture I have taken recently. My friend Indy came to mine and we did a kind of mini practice photo-shoot and tried out some styles and messed about with paint and glitter, these are some really nice ones, but I haven't got round to editing them yet so I will show you them once I am finished. Best thing is that MY EXAMS ARE OVER!! Greatest feeling being able to come home and not worry about revision, just go to the beach and hang out with friends at the weekends :) I am also surfing a lot more now so I will have some nice summer shots later on and I am really trying to post more often, but because I mainly focus on my photography it all depends on when I get out to take pictures, so I am thinking of expanding this blog to a bit more of everything including tips and ideas... but let me know what you think. Hope the weather is great where you are and are having a great Summer :)
